You are Beautiful: Collage, Greeting Card, Shrine

Yes, this vintage photo shows a lady wearing a fish hat!

Her Mona Lisa smile is contagious. She is quirky beautiful, totally her own person.  We all have someone like this in our lives inspiring us to be ourselves.

This collage was designed to be a greeting card.  It is mounted on an antique photo cover. The ribbons tie to the back and it becomes a shrine to the unconventionally beautiful.  The patina butterfly is a choker necklace on a chain that when not worn will be part of the display.

It was sold on Dec 2, 2011

Mata Hari Adornments: Enshrined Earrings

These patina brass frames encase a faded photo of a young Mata Hari. Tiny birds fly near her heart.

Mata Hari lived a fascinating and sad life. She was a dutch born performer and dancer who was accused by the French for being a spy for Germany. It was reveled decades later that she had indeed been falsely accused. She was executed by firing squad in 1917.
